HyperSpace Express (HSX) is a small indie/geek multimedia publishing company, originally started in 1988 by Steve Savitzky as part of a joint venture with his parents' consulting company, Silvermine Resources Inc. Their product line, now out of print, was a series of file translation and transfer products for Perkin-Elmer spectophotometers and other lab instruments. They are now archived on GitHub under ssavitzky/Silvermine-Resources.
HSX was re-booted in 2007 to publish Steve's first CD, Coffee, Computers, and Song!. It was re-booted again in 2025 as a Dutch partnership (VOF) owned by Steve and his sister and bandmate Naomi Rivkis. Naomi's book of protopian short stories, The World As It Ought to Be, has just been published.
Current CD projects include Kaleidofolk's debut CD Winds of Time, Steve's long-awaited Amethyst Rose, and (Kaleidofolk's lead singer) Magpie's debut CD.
Current writing projects include Naomi's next two books, including a sequel to TWAIOtB, and the missing content of this website.
Current open-source software projects include MakeStuff (the software used for Steve's CDs, songbooks, and websites) and Honu, a simple Linux configuration file setup system.
