MakeStuff
This the collection of build tools Steve uses to manage multiple websites (including this one, his personal site, and Kaleidofolk's site), songbooks, recording projects, blogs, and so on. Some of the pieces, especially the songbook and music site builder, would work well as separate projects, but so far there hasn't been any interest in doing the work.

Steve co-wrote this suite of programs with his late father for his parents' now-defunct consulting company. They ran under MS-DOS, and provide a simple mc-like interface for transferring and converting files written by a variety of different Perkin-Elmer spectrophotometers and other devices. The project involved writing drivers for several different filesystems, and used make for incremental backups and production as well as compilation.
It's worth noting that this was the first product of Steve's little side business, which he called HyperSpace Express.
